Up until just now, I was using Fujifilm DVD-Rs, and every single backup I made skipped. It took me a while to figure out that it was the media, and I have a few backups that don't work, due to the media. If I rip the messed up backups, and then burn them again, it won't work, correct?

It might work, if your computers DVD drive can read it (maybe very slowly?) then it is very possible to get skip free copies on new media. Do they skip using a standalone or also on the computer?

Good thought, I'll try that now. I know that one some standalones, in the point where it messes up, it just gets all pixely, and in some it skips back a few scenes. I'll try it now though. Thanks!

Okay, I just tried it, it skips in the same place as it skips on standalones, I guess that means they are all shot, unless anyone else has a suggestion.

You might try making a copy onto better media (if you just tested playback on a computer) or test first using a virtual DVD drive from an iso on the hard drive. The read process during a copy would be more resilient then during playback.
