Hi,
I installed Real Alternative on my PC and now I cannot run RealPlayer (after uninstalling Real Alternative). I can't even open real.com (It appears that my computer is blocking the site). Does anyone have any solutions?
Thanks

i attach a tool Karl uploaded somewhere in this forum (and now i cannot find link...)
It will remove every registry key involved with realplayer (official or alternative)

You should not install RealAlternative.
Try this instead:

try the main RealPlayer 10 thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68399). Bottom of post. Avoid Real Alternative. I recommend to install RealPlayer 10.5 Gold, disable message center according to instructions, and everything should be fine. Thanks! ;)

I once installed RealAlternative as well, and couldn't get it to work.
It isn't really a media player, is it, but is supposed to get Media Player Classic to work with RealMedia files?
I cannot get MPC to play RM files either. It looks like it opens them, but no sound or video.
I see, however, there is a new version of RealAlternative, version 1.25, updated only a week ago, 9/11. Here is the URL for the download page (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm)
Has anyone tried that new version? Perhaps it works now.

Real Alternative always worked for me. It must be a problem with your system, you should try to remove all Real registry entries and left overs, before installing either Real Alternative or RP10.
It seems that RP10 won't work after a previous installation of Real Alternative was on the system, and vice versa.
Use Karl Lillevold's tool for cleaning your system, a link can be found in his RP10 thread.
