Crop without reencoding possible? (in XviD)

i got about ~25 video clips i wo0uld like to crop 8 lines from top and bottom....do i need to reencode to do this? i cant really think of why i should have to, but at the same time i can sort of see why i would...so im not sure.

any help is appreciated.

If you use ffdshow to decode the content, you can use its internal filters to crop while playing the file on your computer. This is the only way to crop without a need to re-encode.
