View Full Version : DVD shrink 3.2 creating files too big, but Shrink 3.1 is accurate

I have an international movie that is 3 hours long. I used the re-author mode and cut the credits out. Everything is on default and when Shrink 3.2 does the deep analysis and creates the ISO image, the ISO image is too big to put on to a dvd-r. I tried this with another 3 hour movie and same result.

I then used Shrink 3.17 and it worked perfectly w/ deep analysis. Is there a glitch in 3.2? The files were coming out around 4.65gb-4.69gb. Any input is appreciated; this is the first time I've had this problem but then again it is the first time I've tried to back up a 3 hour movie. Thanks

This is a little off topic for your question but you might want to look into DVDRebuilder to do that movie, I think you will find you achieve better results with longer movies like that.

Spruceland,

Regards DVDShrink 3.2, is it the 3.2.0.15 version that you have?

Also, when you go into EDIT->PREFERENCES, what is your target DVD size?

I've had this happen once under 3.2, and it was when using Maximum smoothness. Didn't happen on other AEC settings...

Yep, I'm using 3.2.0.15
Target size is 4.7gb (4464mb)
In fact, I event reduce the target size and it was still to big. Everything is on default and I used deep analysis. I think there is a glitch some where in this version because it did it on two different discs that were slightly over or clost to 3 hours. Thanks
