Just use VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod to join your AVI file and then just use AVI2DVD to make what you want... you have a complete guide dor VirtualDub on http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm
By the way... the procedure that you need is on the "Merging AVI files" or "Merging AVI files(advanced)" sections.

And don't forget to sync the second part of the subtitle before joining with the first CD subtitle.
The simple way:
- load the second subtitle in Subtitle Workshop.
- set the mode in frames.
- open the first movie CD in VirtualDub and write somewere the total number of frames
- back to Subtitle Workshop and press Ctrl+D. Set to + (positive delay) and write there the total number of frames. Then open in Subtitle Workshop the second part of the movie and verfify the sync.
- save as MicroDVD.
- open and save the first CD subtitle in MicroDVD format.
- open the subtitles in notepad and delete the first line > {1}{1}23.976. Then with copy-paste, put at the end of the first CD subtitle the all lines of the second CD subtitle. Save.
- for verifying, you can load the joined subtitle from notepad in Subtitle Workshop and the joined avi.
enjoy,

Aaaaand, if I were you I would create only 2 chapters on the DVD. In scenarist you can do it by manually dragging the chapter borders. Of course first chapter is the first movie, the second is the second one etc.

Just see the duration of your first avi and then on the "DVD IMAGE" tab of AVI2DVD check the fixed chapters option and insert the duration of your first AVI in seconds... of course this will work only with 2 AVI files... but this was your question, no?

The simple solution I use is to encode each movie/avi separately to its own folder using DVD2SVCD in Batch mode, and then just author in TMPGenc DVD Author or DVDLab adding a Menu and Chapter points as meeded. In DVD2SVCD, set the CD Size to be 1/2 that of a DVD if you want 2 movies or 1/3 if you want 3. This assumes thay are all similar length movies (time wise), adjust up or down a bit if they are not. Also set to No Images.
Thats not 100% automatic, just the conversions are. Authoring is just a 10-15min job anyway.

Read the Q&A in the DVD2SVCD Basic forum, its right at the bottom being one of the latest added. Despite what the Q&A says, it also works with the D2SRoBa pluggin as well for faster encoding.
