tmpg dvd author doesn't recognise all of file

hi:)

this may at first seem like a question for a different thread, bear with me

i have used different mpeg2 joining programs to join 2 files into 1 with no problems...i now have a 1.03Gb (lasting approx 1h 45m) file on my desktop ready for authoring, or so i thought:confused:

i have followed the tmpg dvd author guide but with no success. when i select the joined file, it only registers a clip lasting 54mins.

oddly enough, if i play the file in WinDVD the time displays as 1h 45m but if i play the file in Power DVD it gets to about 54 mins and then starts counting from 0:00:00 again (although it doesn't register 2 chapters?)

I have had limited success with Ulead DVD authoring software however when i play the dvd in a standalone player it freezes at around 20 mins.

where am i going wrong:(

Try adding the two halves of the movie directly in DvdAuthor. I suspect you may find the second half won't load, possibly because of a currupted header. Some people say you need to join the 2 halves but I never bother when using DvdAuthor. It works fine and I don't notice any difference when watching the output.
