I sometimes find that when I use the default bitrate setting, I will still end up with a CD that won't burn because the bin file is too big. Anyone have any idea why??

for how to do a good post.

Please bear in mind, however, that SVCD's forego some error correction data which allows you to fit 805MB or so on a standard 80-min CDR.

I've gone through the forum rules ... finally (insert sheepish smile here). I actually had gone through the forum topics to see if anyone had a similar problem ... I noted that some had the problem with DVD's, but I haven't come across anyone reporting a similar problem with an SVCD. And, owing to a limited amount of space on my hard drive, I've deleted the "dvd2svcd_log.txt" file (insert sheepish smile & red face here). I can tell you I'm running XP on a 2.4 Gig PC. I can also tell you that I sometimes run over the minimum bitrate level ... the warning states that it may not be able to play (that's never been a problem), but not that it might interfere with the bitrate calculations. Most of the oversize bin files not will burn onto a CD, even with overburn enabled. However, I won't waste anyone's time now until it happens again ... then I'll include the "dvd2svcd_log.txt". Thx!!

Wich encoder do u use? TMPGEnc or CCE? I had some problems with TMPGEnc but when I changed to CCE with DSROBA I never had a similar problem again... test it.
