Hi All

There is one problem that i am getting while i try to add .ac3 audio
I want to convert Avi AC3 to DVD AC3
AC3 (6 Channel i.e. 5.1)

Problem 1
~~~~~~~~~
Procedures are as follows tell me if i am wrong
1.> Demux AC3 audio from .avi file using Vdub Mod
2.> Convert AVi Video to .m2v using "Tmpeg Enc Plus 2.59"
3.> Open Tmpeg DVD Author and create new project
- Add Files i select the .m2v file and at the time i go
to select the .ac3 audio file generated by VdubMod.
It Gives me an error
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Illegal audio format
Illegal audio format.
For a standard DVD you can only use the following formats.
Dolby Digital (AC-3) , MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2 or , Linear PCM
Tmpg DVD Author has encountered a fatal error which it could not
ignore.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
where as i am importing .AC3 file only.
Problem 1 Ends
-------------------
Problem 2
~~~~~~~~~

In IFOEdit 0.95
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When i try to Author the same .m2v file and the same .ac3 file
here i get the .ifo and .vob files which are to be burnt to dvd
but that audio of the vob file is "Kharrrrrrrr" when i try to
play that vob file in mplayer classic , power dvd , windows mp9
Problem 2 Ends
-------------------
- Tmpg DVD Author doesnt accept the AC3
- IfoEdit Accepts and converts it to .ifo and .vob but audio is
scrambled
Is there something called "fixing the ac3 file" before using it in
Tmpg dvd author or IfoEdit . Is there suc ha procedure to be done.
If yes how should i do it.
All i want is a way of easy & successfully converting a
AVI AC3 to DVD AC3
I hope so that you are getting my problem.
Sometimes the audio header has a problem. Pass the ac3 file thru besplit. Start besplit and you will get a small picture looking window on you screen. Drag and drop the audio file on it, being careful to keep your cursor on it, and a dropdown menu will open. Select "fix file" and let it do its thing. It will give you a new "fixed" file, ready for import.
echooff means bespliced which provides a front end (sort of) for besplit :)
If you use *demux* with vdubmod then there should be no wave header (which nandub adds). However, there could be a partial frame at the beginning or 0s - which should be deleted but it also amounts to an audio delay.
After using bespliced look at the log file. It may say something like
[00:00:00:032] Stream error : Sync found after XXX bytes
The delay is (XXX/(4*bitrate))*32 - e.g. if the figure is 224 then most likely (224/(4*448))*32=4 ms
As an aside, the other thing to look for is stream errors elsewhere (not at 00:00:00:32), because the bad frames will be dropped and sync will be lost. Unfortunately bad frames around the join point isn't uncommon after rejoining avis that have been split.
I managed to import the .ac3 file to tmpg dvd author now but a new
problem is there now when i click on "output" button on the top
of dvd author a window comes where i shold give output folder
i give it as "C:\tmpg author" and when i click on begin output the
program just disappears and at the destination
Following folders are created
C:\tmpg author\Volume 1
C:\tmpg author\Volume 1\AUDIO_TS
C:\tmpg author\Volume 1\VIDEO_TS
and all are empty it doesnt contain any .vob files nor any .ifo files
these folders are completely empty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now with ifo edit i am able to get .ifo and .vob files when i author
with the fixed ac3 file.
i.e is i am able to convert .m2v and .ac3 to .vob and .ifo file and
in the audio info also shows 6Channel
----------------------------------------------------------------------
but i dont know wats the problem with Tmpg DVD Author
Please help
@Matthew
Thank you for pointing out my misstatement. You are of course correct.
Has the trial period expired?
Should the above question not apply, try un-installing and re-installing the program.
