Hello,
I hope this is the right forum. I have a question about some of the software mentioned in the thread title, namely BSPlayer, MainConcept and the InterVideo Video Decoder.
My problem is this: BSPlayer (as well as zplayer) shows that my MPEG-2 Decoding is being handled by the Intervideo Video Decoder. This is NOT what I want. I want my MainConcept Video Decoder to be the default. How would I go about changing this? My ffdshow install shows that MPEG1 and MPEG2 are "currently broken" and when I try to specify libavcodec or libmpg2, the .mpg file that I want to play skips. I have to leave that option set to "disabled". Shouldn't there be more options in ffdshow? I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but it still shows the same.
The only way I could correctly get MainConcept to do what I wanted it to was by uninstalling Intervideo WinDVD.
I am at a loss as to what to do. Zoomplayer shows that I have these currently installed:
> MPEG2 Video (SVCD/VOB):
Found: (00700000) InterVideo Video Decoder (v6.0.6.42)
Found: (005FFFFF) MainConcept MPEG Video Decoder (v1.0.0.55)
How would I go about specifying MainConcept as my default MPEG2 Decoder? BSPlayer allows me to see what I have, but not specify it. Same with ZoomPlayer.
Any ideas? A guide? Altering the registry is an option, if I knew what to change -- that doesn't really bother/frighten me. So, if you have any suggestions, big or small, I'd love to hear them.

ALSO: If I have posted in the wrong forum, or made any mistakes, my apologies -- after running a search I have not come across any answers for my little dilemna. But then again, I wasn't 100% sure what to search for. MainConcept? MPEG-2? No idea on that one.
After some messing around, I found that Media Player Classic has an option to Override filters -- and that works good. The problem, of course, is still there... how does one get BSPlayer to work like this? It is, after all, my player of preference. Although, lately, it's been giving me its share of troubles.
