"Mp3 Surround" The new 5.1 Audio to come from Fraunhofer - it is there

Hi All

I think so that you too might be wating for MP3 5.1 for to come.

Well a New 5.1 Standard is about to again change the way we hear
5.1 Audio.

Mp3 Surround = 5.1 Audio + Compression.

So now the DVD Rips that we do would now have a combination of
- Xvid/3ivx/Divx as Video Stream.
- MP3 Surround as Audio Stream.(instead of AC3)

I have tried AAC 5.1 but it does not completely match the Audio Quality of AC3 5.1. I am hoping that Mp3 Surround will help us
provide that quality matched to that of AC3 as it did for the
old Wav 2 Channel format.

Well i dont think so that Mp3 Surround Encoding Tool have yet arrived

But if someone would find if they are available somewhere it would be great fun for comaparing.

hey buddy i didnt knew that there was a mp3 5.1 encoding solution available.

If it was so then why is it not implemented as yet and not available
commercially.

Guys i didnt knew this is a year old news.

- If there was a Mp3 surround codec available where is it.

- Whats the name of the softwares that are used for
AC3 to MP3 surround conversion

- Why are our DVD Rips still using the AC3 format instead of
Mp3 Surround.

I think the whole idea of mp3 surround is scrapped as it would give about the same quality and comp. ratios as ac3
(correct me if i'm wrong)

hehe, besweet's one ;) but no 5.1 mp3. if you really want to compress ac3 (which is compressed & lossy audio already),
i'd go for 5.1 aac/mp4 track in .mkv container.
I always keep the original ac3 track (as I do only 2cd-3cd encodes)

Sorry guys i really didnt knew that this issue is really very old

please guys forgive me it has been just 6months that i have entered
this field of audio and video editing and i am not a pro like you

Please forgive me for this i thought that Mp3 surround is something
new.

Guys please check out, you had told me that the idea is scrapped but
its not the Fraunhofer site is offering samples and demo of MP3
