Problem burning with Sony CRX320E

I am trying to burn CDs with my new Sony CRX320E (52x)firmware NYK4, using 56x PERI CD-R's with DVD Decrypter in ISO write mode.

The writer speed gets to about 19x, then the buffer starts bobbing between 15% to 100% and finally settles at 16X. The HD light is not fully bright, and the CD drive light blinks on and off at 16x.

I checked, I am using DMA not PIO, I am using XP home SP2.

I've used several different brand of CD's at 24x, 40x 52x and they all do the same.

Has anyone else had this problem?
I've searched the forum, but found nothing specific to my experience.

Incase it is a DMA issue, you actually have to delete the IDE controller from within Device Manager to rectify the problem. XP will say it's using DMA, when in fact, it is not.
