there will not be duel layer dvd-r's, the whole reason dvd+r's were made is that they are kind of a cheaper way to make the -r's, there is no reason to have dvd-r's that are duel layer.

I highly doubt there wont be dvd-r dual layer. If dvd+r is a cheaper way to make the dvd-r that means they are just that. Cheaper and of less quality. IS that what your saying?

i'm saying that the dvd+r's are just a cheaper way to make dvd-r's, not cheaper quality. they wont be making duel layer dvd-r's because it is new technology that is being released to the public. now that they know how to manufacture dvd-r's (which would be the +r's)for less then it did before, there is no reason to spend the exess money to make the -r's. sorry if i'm still unclear.

I talked to Pioneer tech support the other day and the guy mentioned they had the DVD-R Dual Layer already. They have to get it cerified, which he said they will in NOV 2004. Ive always used +R so it wont effect me.
