LG Gsa-4082B DVD Write Speed Problem

Hi there,
I've got a problem concerning the DVD write speed of my LG burner. It should be able to write at (x speed but in fact the max. write speed shown is 2.4x.
I've updated to firmware A206 and to Nero 6.3.1.2 and still have the same problem. Any suggestions?

Don't use princo or similar crap media

I don't think it depends on the media. Even if I don't have a medium inserted, nero doesn't give me the option to burn at a higher speed than 2.4x.

With no media inserted the drive might report 2.4x as the only available speed. Try some recommended media. LG drives are paranoid about speed. Insert discs they don't like and *booom* 2x or 2.4x (sometimes even 2.4x for 8x discs they don't like).
