Is it normal for cce 2.50 to use 100% cpu usage or is that bad ??

Ive never checked the cpu usage before, but i checked it today as i left the pc on overnight to encode, and after ive got up i check the pc, it should have finished but it had'nt the pc had locked up after about 4 mins of cce creating the vaf file.I had xnews running aswell but minimized. But xnews running in the background before when i had a amd 1900+ and 512mb it was fine. But this was my first encode since changing to a new mobo with 1GB ram and a amd 2500-m @3200(200x11).

No, it's perfectly normal. MPEG2 encoding is a very computing power demanding process.

The maximum CPU and intense ram usage is one of the reasons CCE tends to point out problems with lockups caused by CPU overtemp or bad ram. Master Yoda, I suspect your machine will fail the Prime95 torture test. Might be overtemp or you may need to increase your CPU VCore and/or your VDimm voltages slightly. You are not pushing that 2500XP-M very hard, but stock voltage (1.45 IIRC) might not be enough. A slight bump to 1.525 to 1.600 volts of VCore should be enough. That may stabilize it, but then make sure then to monitor CPU temps to make sure you have adequate CPU cooling.

cpu voltage is 1.6, i ran prime 95 once before for a couple of hours and it was fine, ive just run it again for about a 1 and a half hours and it was fine.Come to think of it i have encoded before with this cpu and it was fine. So maybe it was just a random freeze.
