DV Type I to WAV... or CLI DV Type I converter.

Hey all,

I need to extract the audio from an avi file via command-line and avi2wav seemed like a logical solution. So I downloaded it and put the params in and then it says "No Audio Chunks Found". Is there like a workaround, because it seems to not work with my AVI DV material.

Most likely you have a type-1 DV file which only has the "raw" audio.

Try to convert it to type-2 DV which avi2wav should be able to extract.

Both Ulead and Canopus offer free conversion tools.

Okay, I know there is a free converter from Ulead, but is there a command line tool?

Has anyone ever heard of smil2wav. It appears to be able to convert DV type I strait to wav like I wanted. But it's only the source code, if someone code direct me to a compile that would be awesome!
