Help authoring dvd from avi files

Hello everybody...

I apologize in advance for posting this question but I couldn't find a similar problem tham one I have.....

I have captured a home movie in avi. want to encode it into mpeg 2 and then author dvds so the whole extended family can enjoy the new baby with us :)

Anyway,I encoded the avi. file to mpeg 2 but got 3 different mpeg files( same movie but cut in 3 parts)

I tried to author them using dvdlab but it's getting really confusing and time consumming....
I tried to join the 3 files but then dvdlab doesn't recognize the new file.....

Any suggestions? I still have the original movie,both on tape and my hd.....

Look in the DV forum. There is a dv to dvd guide there that should be able to explain how to do this step by step.
