View Full Version : Stuck With Audio Sync Issues

I have a DVD that was made with a standalone DVD recorder. I demuxed the audio and video streams from it with DVDDecrypter so I could author a 'true' DVD with fancier menus, etc. The problem is, the AC3 stream contains errors and won't be accepted by an authoring program. If I correct the AC3 with AC3Fix (tried both 'fix' and 'silence' options) it is no longer in sync with the video. I also tried decoding to .wav and re-encoding to a new AC3 with similar results. PVAStrumento only writes about half of the AC3 when I tried that. The closest I have gotten to sync is through time stretching a new .wav to match the videos time code, but sync in the middle is pretty off. I need some more ideas, getting desperate here...

As always, I solve the problem minutes after posting. I'm going to start and post sooner rather than going through trial & error for two days. :p

Anyways, the solution (which seems obvious after reading my above post) was to use the AC3 file created by AC3 fix with the video stream created by PVAStrumento. Not sure why PVAStrumento wouldn't write a proper AC3, but oh well.
