TMPG: Read error occurred at address...

I get this message when I try to encode an AVI file in TMPG.

I have the correct codecs installed, directshow is set to top priority in thr VFAPI plug-in list.

It seems to be with Xvid files. They play fine, it's just when I run them through TMPG. And it can happen at random moments, sometimes after 5 mins, others 15 mins?

I thought becuase it says READ error the file was corrupt but it Gspot says it's OK and I encoded this on my other PC with no problems.

So what's the problem? Has anybody else encountered this error with TMPG?

another solution would probably be to use Avisynth for frameserving!
