Hi,
First, I'm not an expert, so please be patient ;)
My question:
I capture some stuff from VHS tapes and convert them to DVD. Mostly short clips (2 - 10 min),
which I like to fade in/out and than join them together. Works reasonably well, except for
this: sometimes FadeIn (also FadeIO, FadeIn2) causes a nasty audible "plop" during the first
140 frames of the video. My crude way to fix this is:
FadeIn(200)
Trim(140,0)
FadeOut(60)
Now, as you see, that's really crude ;), and there's also no real fade anymore, because I cut
the first frames off after FadeIn.
I've already experimented with
AssumeFPS(25.000, sync_audio=true) # no difference
ApplyRange(0, 140, "JDL_Silence", "") # doesn't work (turns audio into "shreeek" noise)
ApplyRange(0, 140, "Amplify", 0.0) # the first few audio frames get played twice (?), nasty
So, does anyone know how remove the "plop" or even better, prevent it's creation?
Remember, the plop isn't there on the raw capture, only after using any of the "Fade" functions

Capture card: Terratec Cinergy 400 TV
Sound Card: Terratec DMX XFire 1024
Capture settings: 704x576, Picvideo Codec (18), Audio 48 kHz Stereo (other sampling rates make no difference)
