Hey everyone,
I've been encoding for a couple of months now and so far its been smooth sailing (for the most part). I encoded a bit using the avi container and have just jumped over to ogm (and ogg vorbis audio, for that matter). I've looked all over the forums (or at least have tried) and found no mention of something that I've noticed.
It is this: when I encode an AC3 using r4r (using OagMachine generated parameters, and version 1.4 of BeSweet) into an ogg, it sounds fine. When I encode an mp3 using the same method, it sounds fine. BUT, when in throw the mp3 into an AVI container (and of course the XviD encoded video) and the ogg into an OGM (with the same encoded video), they come out sounding different: the volume of the avi is definitely louder than the volume of the ogm. I was wondering what could be the cause of this.
When I play the OGM and the AVI back, I'm using Media Player Classic 6.4.8.2. I've tested it on Winamp and ZoomPlayer also. Same results follow. Any ideas/input/insults to throw my way for being an ignoramus? Thanks in advance! :D
