When I last used DVD Ripping to CD I had some program I forgot the name which was damp easy...
I just put in the (also decrypted worked) DVD and made a few settings (language etc...) - after some hours out came 2 CDs in good quality.
Does this program still exist (forgot the name) or does somebody know a similar good program (also for encrypted DVDs).
Thanks a lot...

DVD2SVCD (http://www.dvd2dvd.org/) sounds exactly like what you're looking for.

Can I do the full trick DVD -> Divx CD in one go ???

No, it's for DVD-> VCD/SVCD/DVD. For .avi production, there are other tools.
There are a couple of "nearly one-button" DVD->DivX tools, one that is very popular with members today is Auto Gordian Knot -- www.autogk.net is the website for it. It's two step (ripping-encoding) rather than one, but it comes with a nice tutorial, and Doom9 has a step-by-step ... well, step-step ... guide as well.

hi,
no dvd2svcd is, as the name already tells you for dvd to SVCD (mpeg2) conversion!
if you want divx output i think the 'laziest' solution would be autoGK!

I, too, was working on a reply to this when I looked up and saw all the firepower that had been brought to bear. Do we have too much time on our hands today, guys? :D

Dr. Divx and EasyDivx are worse then AutoGK ? How is it with DeCSS encrypted DVDs - which program can I use to decrypt these ?
Thanks

hehe quite a post pileup :P
imho Dr.Divx is worse than AutoGK - produces worse quality and only supports divx (of course ;)) never used EasyDivx so i can't tell
for decrypting CSS encrypted DVDs i'd recommend DVDdecrypter! dvddecrypter and autoGK make an almost unbeatable team ;)

You can solve many of your questions quite easily by visiting the Guides (http://www.doom9.org/guides.htm) section of the forum. Step-by-step guides posted there will tell you how to set up and process all the way from decrypting to the final burning stage. DVDDecrypter is one of, it not the best, rippers.
I'll refrain from comparing software but I do know that you'll receive better help on GKnot issues here in the Doom9 forum than with any other DivX software anywhere else. The reasons for this will become apparent to you after you make the time to do some lurking and reading.

[pileup] And yes, I was working on this one when SteVe bounced back in. :)

And, since you seem to already be familiar with both Dr. DivX and EasyDivX, why not experiment with those two as well as AutoGK -- and then you can find the "one-button" tool you prefer. Likes and dislikes are subjective.
