I've tried everything I could to get this thing demuxed. First I tried to open it in virtualdubmod and it crashes with an out of bounds ntdll error. I tried using avi-mux to save it as a new mkv file, that works it can now open in vdubmod, but now I get shit frames. Like the keyframes are fudged. I tried muxing directly to another mkv in graphedit, that works too, but it wont open in vdubmod because it loses it's framerate. (0.000fps) I'm trying to help out this fansub group that one of their raws is in mkv and it's causing a lot of trouble. >< Thank your for your help.

If Avi-Mux GUI works, then go with it. You can't expect to have a damage file and recover everything fine. So that would explain why some frames are lost.
Did you try mkvmerge, just in case ?

But you see, I'm not sure if it's corrupted. It's just giving me problems.
I'll try mkvmerge then.

mkvextract.exe worked perfectly! I got the streams I wanted and there were no errors in the avi. Thanks for your help.

So, if you kept the bad version. Could you have a look with MatroskaProp and see what application produced that file ? We try to keep track of bad softwares to help developpers correct their errors :D

He didn't say the original file was b0rked, only demuxing tools wouldn't do the job.
