View Full Version : M2V in Maestro is too short

I have a problem with M2V files in Maestro. I'm trying to get extra subtitles into a dvd movie, so I use DVDdecrypter to demux the files into ac3, m2v. And I load these 2 files in Maestro.

But when I look at the duration of the M2V and the AC3 file(s) it's suddenly different. The M2V is a couple of minutes shorter. Which means that the ending and the credits of the movie are missing.

When I load the M2V in Windows Media Player and skip to the end, I can see that the ending is present in the M2V file.

I also tried to demux the video with vobedit, but when I load that m2v into Maestro I get exactly the same as I have with the M2V from dvddecrypter.

I think that Maestro isn't completely loading the M2V. But why it doesn't do that is unclear to me. I don't get any errors.

I've authored about 50 dvd's so far, and I've come across this problem twice. I've searched with google and couldn't find any solutions. I also tried to add subtitles according to this (http://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/197950) tutorial, but the subs come out kinda ugly.

So I hope someone knows what I can do to get those M2V's properly loaded in Maestro, or know another way to add subtitles to a dvd.

The reason could be a timecode change in the "middle" of the m2v-stream. Try to use the tool Restream from ssh and check the box for

- reset timestamp
- zero broken link frames
- remove sequence end codes

I have found a way to work around it. When I use vobedit to demux de video I check on the box "split on new vob-id" and then load all the multiple m2v's in maestro. When I've done that I just drag them into the movie stream one by one where they combine to one large movie.

Hopefully I'm saving somebody else a lot of work with this anwer because it took me quite some time to figure this one out.
