Hi Everyone
I am new to this and i have asked this question in dvd authoring but have no answer yet. Maybe i should have asked here first! My problem is i have a bought dvd which only plays back in 4.3 anamorphic on either my sony dvd player or on Win/dvd on my computer. Is there a program that will re-encode the movie so that it can be viewed in 16.9 on my dvd player. I have dvd decrypter, dvd shrink, dvd2one, gordian knot and a trail version of TMPGEnc-2.521plus (but don't have any instructions for the trail version)and nero 6.Can anyone out there help me please.
Thanks in advance
Steve

hi and welcome to the forum,
please do not crosspost! in the future, please ask a moderator of the forum you posted in to move the thread for you!!

anyway, to your problem:
it is possible to reencode the dvd to 16:9, but it is not recommended anyway!
you basically got three choices:
- you crop (alot) of information from the top or bottom
- you add black bars to the side (which your player most likely does automatically when you pop in the dvd right now)
- you stretch the picture of your dvd which will give you a totally f*** up aspect reatio and picture!

anyway, point is, there's not much sense in doing the reencode!

imho at last!
