changing viewing aspect

Hi Folks
I have a dvd which will only play back on my dvd player in 4.3 anamorphic. Is there any way to decrypt it,rencode it and burn it so that it will replay on my dvd player in 16.9.I have a good player so that is not the problem.Hoping you clued up people can help.

it´seems that DVD was authored as 4:3, you need to reauthor it as a 16:9 project or else your player won´t be able to know image is anamorphic.
