I have 2 questions.

Is there a way to fix the AC3 delay that occurs with DVD2AVI other then AC3 delay corrector program which didn't do it correctly for me.

Second question - is there a particular reason why DVD2AVI doesn't
create files with no delay to begin with ?

TIA

Let me try to offer some answers:

1) Fix the delay? How is the delay incorrect?

2) Good question. I think Don was looking into this very thing. I don't know how easy it would be to do, but it is being looked into.

for the audio not to have a delay the video would have to be adjusted..( remembering the dvd source is muxed with a delay in it.. the delay is corrected during playback )

An option for that might be nice for sometimes.. other times it is not. i prefer to have to mess with the audio than to have too few or too many video frames compared to the original. for example dvdrb needs the output frame count to mirror the input exactly.

Cyberia:
Yes you are right the delay is correct. But I don't want there to be one.

Here is the problem.

I want convert PAL DVD to NTSC. However the audio track has a delay (usually 200-300ms). If I author this file the resulting audio is out of sync. What I need is to get rid of the delay.

How do you guys usually deal with this problem ?

use something like jsotos delaycut on it. it is available in the audio forum http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=71545&highlight=delaycut it will remove or add ac3 samples to so the audio syncs with the video
