DVDdecrypter delay vs. DVD2AVI delay

Hello. I cannot find an answer to this, and it is quite annoying to know which value to use. The problem is that when I rip a DVD to hdd using DVDdecrypter in IFO mode, it generates a "VTS_01 - Stream Information.txt" file, where the audio delay is told. In that file, the delay is -83ms. However, when I open the vobs in DVD2AVI, and select demux all tracks, it generates the ac3 tracks with delays of 0ms. This occurs in the movie Animatrix, for example.

This happens many times in different movies, but it seems that the DVD2AVI delay values are -83ms off from the DVDdecrypter IFO text file delay values. For instance, in one movie, the DVDdecrypter delay values will be something like -205ms, while the ac3 tracks demuxed with DVD2AVI will have a delay of -122ms. Which value is the "real" delay value that I should use in GKnot when muxing audio?

EDIT: I just found out that The Animatrix does not apply to this question, as the frame rate itself is off, but this question still stands on other movies.

I believe the true correct value is obtained by DVD2AVIDG or something. It's like a later version of DVD2AVI with some special fixes by people who know what they're doing.

My delay calculations aren't as complex as theirs and I doubt I'll change it because I dont really understand the reasoning behind it all!

You should always use the DVD2AVIdg (or upgrade to dgdecode which doesnt show delays anymore, but corrects them) to get your delay. It says that in one of the guides or FAQ's, i just cant remember which.

Ah yes, after doing a little reasearch, I eventually found out that DVD2AVIdg is the correct value, provided that the initial GOP is closed. Considering all the movies I work with have closed first GOP's, I should be fine, thank you.
