well it seems that a number of people (in irc) have been having issues in relation to the current build of scenaid (.27) and the incorrect colours of their subs, so ...

jel's quick guide to changing sub colours!

1. open your scenario in scenarist
2. open your 'track editor window' (top left tab)
3. select the track you wish to change the subcolours (double click on it or select from tracks tree on left)
4. highlight your subpicture stream - make sure you select the whole stream and not an individual subpic (.bmp)
5. go to Tools > Change Colour
6. deselect the 'change text colour' option, so that only 'display colour is shown.
7. change colours to suit.

to check that the colours you have selected are correct, select the 'simulation window' and use the pink arrow buttons to navigate to the next subpic (making sure you have the correct stream selected in the 'track tab' options of the simulation window). this can sometimes be a case of trial an error, although it shouldnt take more than a few minutes to adjust all necessary streams.

I have been having a nightmare with sub colours and have learned how to adjust them, and has been fine for the most part, however, I am wondering if there is an issue with DOITF4U as I have a few titles that after I have changed the subs colors it gives me an error message about a cell has a different 'color palette' and this failed the layout. The reason I say this is because I imported the subs manually, without using scenaid .27 and it still wouldnt allow the change. It just wont compile after changing from the imported defaults.

Sorry, search is still down, I expect I will find something there, unless someone else has seen this.

the problem is with vsrip/vsconv more not really with dif4u. the latest vsrip/vsconv does a lot better job.. they should be out with the next scenaid hopefully shortly.

tried your suggestion using scenarist 3. Every time I change the color and press ok. If I go back to Tools -> Colors, the colors hasn't changed. :|

any ideas?

I ripped the DVD using dif4u with vsrip/vsconv from latest scenaid (prerelease version). but I'm having problems "building the layout" using the scenaid scp so I decided to the RA scp.

i can not imagine scenarist 3 would be any different than 2.7 in this regards (although i haven't tested). depending on the number of subtitles, it can take scenarist a minute or two to change the colours for the whole stream.
have you tried looking at the subs in the simulation window and see if the colours have changed?
