Hey!

I have a NEC2500 which Im very happy with, but sometimes it makes bad DVDs. It plays fine in the DVD-machine but the problem shows when it starts freezing the picture in the middle of the movie.

Without to browse all the scenes through is there than a solution to check if the DVD is without bad sequencies?

Of course I could use DVDshrink and analyse the disc or use the method described in the "sticky"-thread, but that takes more than 10 minutes to check. Isnīt there a way to do it in only some few minutes?

Thanks.

It's not the most comprehnsive test, but try copying the whole disc to your hard drive. If it copies fine, your DVD is good, or at least good enough for error correction to handle. Also, don't forget to have Ultra DMA mode on for your drive.

Yes but copying the whole disc to my hard drive would take about the same time as analysing the disc in fx. DVDshrink.

But what is Ultra DMA and how do I see if it is on?

I think the only way you could do it faster would be to use a DVD-ROM with rip lock removed. Run it through Nero CD DVD speed test in about 5 mins. No other way (faster).
Or use top quality media (no need to test). You could also upgrade your firmware.
