hi guys. I have a BTC 1008 8x dvd burner. Which company, relatively inexpensive makes good 4x dvd-r discs for this burner, also 4x dvd-rw discs. I heard it is better to burn at 4x than 8x someone said this is more stable. Is this true? Thanks, humerus1.

This applies to every kind of media: the lower velocity on the burning process, less errors you'll get ;)

As for reliability: Verbatim's DataLifePlus media are very good (the non-Plus DataLifes are crap); also Taiyo Yuden media (packaged as Plextors or as Verbatim Pastell) are good. Some burners prefer Ricoh DVD-Rs. Verbatim is actually a branch of Mitsubishi; DataLifePlus DVD-Rs are Mitsubishi-made, DataLife DVD-Rs are made by CMC if my memory serves me well.

Princo make good reliable discs. I am on my 4th 50x Spindle
Good price too... Here in Aus we pay $30 for a 50x Spindle of 4x media... that's under $20 US
