Hello,

I use Nero to encode HE-AAC. Now, how do I know what samplerate I encode?

I'd like to make stereo @64/56/48 kbps average, but the samplerate must stay 48 khz, how do I know if it really stays 48khz?

I tried different tools to view the file information, but they all give different information. For example CoreAAC saids the file is LC and 3ivx saids the file is HE, what tool am I to believe?

I use "MP4 Input Plugin for Winamp"

I get it from here - http://www.rarewares.org/aac.html

it tells me the correct sample rate, altho I think it still says it is lc, maybe they fixed that tho

edit: yep, winamp still says it is lc, the 3ivx filter displays the correct info tho, I just checked, right sample rate and it says he-aac

When encoding HE-AAC, the samplerate should stay the same, using SBR, right? Why is there still downsampling?

BTW: Is Joint-Stereo possible with Nero's HE-AAC encoder?

if the codec think that a lower samplerates provides better quality, he will downsample

is Nero STILL the best HE-AAC encoder?
