Hi
I recently used Tmpg to encode Xvids to DVD comatible SVCDs.
I encode with VBR.
Is there a program or something, to get the average and maximum bitrate for the encoding, to get a desired file size with best possible quality for that size?

It would be helpfull... because now I sometimes have to encode 2 or 3 times to find the "perfect" VBR setting.
thx

You can use BitrateView. Search with google.

Cant find a download link...

But I read here in a thread, that a 2 Pass VBR has a predictable file size...
where can I see the predicted file size when using 2 pass vbr?

Thx, but how does it help me to find the right VBR setting for that file?

It has the option to open avi files, but if I select the avi file and click open, nothing happens...

Isnt there a way, to make a 2 pass encoding, but stop after the first pass, and then select the bitrates according to the analysed data?

Oh, you want to predict the right CQ (VBR) in TMPGEnc then choose this link:

The CQMatic can predict this. Thx kwag.
