i have an xvid avi file which i cant encode to mpeg usng tmpg. whenever i use this xvid avi file as source file, only video is accepted; audio not accepted.
pls help

Have you tried to de-mux the audio with virtualdub? What does gspot say about the audio format? We need a little more information to assist you better. Try to open the avi in virtualdub and the save the audio as a wav. If you are successful, you could encode the audio seperately.

Change the audio encoder to toolame. Option in in the environmental settings. The audio encoder within version 2.5 is a known problem. I found it better for me to encode the audio seperately. The newer version of tmpgenc 3.0 is vastly superior with audio encoding.

it works fine now. i just unchecked the avi2 option in evnironmental options.
