Although I came late to the powerful combination of dvddecrypter and auto gk, I have been trimming and converting vob->avi for some time now. AutoGK does a better job than i have done in some cases, for a LOT les time. Thank you very much for writing such a fine app.

However, why does it need files ripped with dvddecrypter in ifo mode? I ask because I have a bunch of dvds ripped with smartripper as complete backups. My workaround is to create an iso of the folder , mount the folder with daemon tools as a drive, then re-rip with dvddecrypter.

Is there a better shorter way?

Tnx.

i think i am dyslexic. If dvd decrypter needs to be operated in 'ifo' mode for autogk-why does that faq say that ifo parsing code was removed?

because the ifo parsing mode within autogk was removed.. now you are forced to use dvd decrypter. Before, you could rip any VOBs using any software and leave it to AutoGK to deal with the mess that gave.. since it caused len0x a lot of grief looking into issues that he absolutely could not to anything about (and AutoGK failing was not his fault but the person who ripped the VOBs in the first place), that troublemaker was removed.

thank you. the next question 'how is file mode different from ifo mode in dvd decrypter?' is something i am trying to unravel in the dvddecrypter forums. If you have an answer, I'd appreciate it. if not. thanks for the help you've already given.

Answer to the shorter way. Though I don't use AutoGK myself, but the full GKnot. If I've backupped a full DVD to harddisk (and decrypted of course), 'vstrip' in Robot4Rip does what you want to do. Though I don't know how that would fit in with AutoGK.
