View Full Version : Strange DGDecode 1.0.12a Issue

Has anyone used DGDecode 1.0.12a on LOTR:TT Extended? I don't know whats special about this m2v but for some reason when I run it on it, and open it via avisynth, it looks horribly blocky and ugly.. However, after switching back to DVD2AVIDG everything is peachy.
What gives? I've done many movies with DGDecode that look perfect.. What do I use to chop it for Don? Also looks fine when opening via VFAPI in TMPG.
I am only using LoadPlugin and Mpeg2Source in the avs.
Ok... More info... It ONLY looks messed up if I don't scroll past the frame I'm checking first... So if I open the avs in MPC, then hit stop and go directly to the frame X, it looks messed up, however, if I move the slider past it, then do the go to frame X, frame X looks perfect. What the hell is going on? Same thing in CCE, VirtualDubMod, etc.

I just did this movie, actually. I didn't have any problems, except where the movie changed DVD's (part 1 and part 2), and those were sync issues due to extra leading black frames.

Yes well I'm pretty sure its a DGDecode issue, as the problem is non-existant in the DVD2AVIdg versions. Is Don on hiatus again?

He had some very personal issues to deal with. Now,though, i think hes primarily supporting dgdecode suite through his forum.

Yea, Don needs some time to himself right now. I'm sure he'll be back when he's able. I'm still updating the "to-do list", so don't stop making suggesions. Just have patience. :)

Hmmm... three days ago, I've sent him a PM on his forum regarding a MMX-optimized rewrite of KernelDeint I did, but he still hasn't replied to it...
Do you know if he's even looking at his own forum? I don't want to release that version before hearing from him, but since I won't be home next week I had hoped to hear from him before then...

I don't think Don is reading his forum or email at the moment. I have no idea how long it will take for Don to return. He will let us know when he is ready to return.
FYI: I don't think he has lost any interest in this field, he's just dealing with other issues.

Oh well... I've asked Scharfis_Brain to try out my filter and he pointed out a few things that need to be improved anyway, so I'll be working on it for a while. Still, I guess since Donald's code is under the GPL I'm going to go ahead and release my filter when it's done, as it's mostly just a speed-optimized version of his code (plus a bug fix for the sharp oneway kernel).

I didn't think that either, I just assumed he was on holiday or something - people do such strange things during the summer... :D (As for me, I'll be at a LAN-party next week so I'll probably won't get to do much till next weekend...)
Anyway, thanks for the notice.
