I don't have the answer to you're problem, i'm sorry; But i was wondering if you are experiencing the same problems as I? You see before ScenAid i tried to generate my scripts with reautherist and I got the "subtitle attributes" error in Scenarist. Then every time i used scenaid to generate the script i had subs that used only one color. And worst of all text and outline stay'd the same causing an practicly unreadable sub. I mentioned my problem in the subtitles forum but got no reply's.
So if you're experiencing the same problem then hopefully we'll get some answers here?
Regards,

@yacho2: You have to set color conversion rules in scenarist if you want to use .jpg subs. Solid colors are lost in bmp to jpg conversion.(resulting jpg has more than four colors)
This is a feature of jpeg compression and there is no way around it. so basically you have to tell scenarist which colors are interpreted as blue and which red and so on. I hope this helps:)
