View Full Version : Unusable M2V file from AVI source

I've been creating some SVCDs from older archived MS V2 .AVIs and have run into some problems. Once in a while the encoded .M2V will not play or will lock up the PC when trying to mux with audio. I am guessing it has something to do with original source file, bad frames, etc. Is there something I can do with the original files to avoid this disasterous outcome? I'm using AVISynth w/ CCE v2.67 if it makes any difference.

(I know this isn't directly CCE related but didn't know where to file it, please move if need be.)

*edit*
I just tried TMPG with the same result. Definitely the source. What do I need to change to avoid a corrupt encode?

It's highly unlikely a somehow "corrupt" source file can cause a corrupted MPEG2 file. I suspect your muxing utility, maybe it can't handle a bitrate peak or something. What do you use for muxing?
