I know this sounds like a really dumb question and I haven't used google or searched here but I have!

I have an MPEG 2 file off a DVB device that's out of sync and all I want to do is resync it ala virtuadub delay audio but I can't find an option in TMPGenc am I being totally stupid or is there another program which will do what I want?

Thanks for any help.

In 2.5x series it is found at Setting->Advanced->Source Range. It's called Audio gap correct.

You might want to try fixing your recording with PVAStrumento, it could possibly repair the off-sync.

Thanks for the reply I tried loading the MPEG up into TMPGEnc but it crashes the program.

Is there any other software around that will do it?

I've tried PVAStrumento no luck.

You're not going to re-encode the video, you just want to resync the audio with the video?

If the off-sync is constant, you could demux the video and audio into separate streams. PVAStrumento can do this for you, possibly TMPGEnc's MPEG Tools unless it crashes too. Then remux the streams with bbMPEG changing the startup delays so that you'll get correct sync.

EDIT: If you're using WinXP, you'll have to first select Load then cancel. Otherwise it'll crash at some point. To get to the muxing, choose Start encoding, then Settings. The rest you should be able to figure out yourself.
