Hi,:)
I am trying to make avi -> SVCD.
I am using TMPGENC Plus 2.5 with Dvd2SVCD.
I left all the settings to default.
Rate Control Mode 2pass VBR and Motion Search Precision to
Highest Quality(too slow).
File length is 56:21 minutes. So as per the bitrate settings it should
fit on one CD.But the final image file is 808MB...so it cant be burn to 80 Min CDR.:(
SO can anyone tell me how to do this. I mean Am i missing some settings ?
Please help me out

Hi. Welcome to the forum.
With regards to your problem, are you sure this file is too long?
Although an 80 min CDR normally gives you 700MB storage, the way SVCD's are written forgoes error correction data allowing you to squeeze just over 800MB on an 80 min CDR.
If it won't fit it is only very slightly too long and I would be amazed if enabling overburning in your writing software wouldn't sort this out.
If you are having difficulty burning, try the method detailed in Q61 of the Q+A sticky.

Hi Nick ,
Thanks a lot for your quick response.
Yes,I am sure file is that big.
Just to check again I tried with another avi which is 59:57 min.
And now also same file size.
Encoded_Video_TMPGEnc_PAL.mpv is 680MB.
after multiplexing audio using bbMpeg ,file size becomes 793MB.
After multiplexing subs using WinSubMux , file size is 797MB.
And VCDXBuild makes a CD image which is 808MB.
hmm...I think last time also it was same.
So Anything wrong with my settings ?
OR Dvd2Svcd not works properly with TMPGEnc ??
Please Help

imaks, I think you misunderstood what Nick meant, 800-805MB is spot on size wise, you should be able to burn it no problems. If you use a format like this without error correction, a 80min(700MB) CD-R is indeed 800MB.
Try burning it to disc, I used to use 815MB and overburn when I made SVCD's:)

Thanks a lot Guys,
Yes,overburned it .
Just wondering ,will I have to do overburn always for a file
having movie length more than 50 minutes ?
Thanks anyway,

Lower the disc sizes (on the bitrate tab) to 795 or so to give you a bit more of a margin, you shouldn't have to overburn then.
The movie length doesn't effect image size since we're using variable bitrate, and you set the disc size yourself in DVD2SVCD. Only the number of CD's used is affected....any you can alter that too.
