Is it possbile to have 3 >> 120GB hard drives on my pc

Hi, at this moment in time I have 2 x 120GB hard drives on my PC, but Laterly I am running out of space on both drives as I store a lot of dvd-r movies on my PC.

Would it be possible to put another 200GB hard drive on my PC, or could i cause problems to my PC >???? ie overheating, slowing my pc down etc.

I dont want to burn all my movies off on 2 dvd-r disks as I use them all the time, so that isnt a option.

+++ when I right click on my C drive and go to properties it says

USED SPACE > 91 GB
FREE SPACE > 4 GB

I dont understand how this drive can be this full, when I double left click on Drive C > to see the folders I have (progrmae files etc)

I drag my mouse cursor over every folder and file to hightlight them all, and then go to properties and it says >>

SIZE > 53GB >>>> which is weird as 91GB take way 53GB = 38GB.

So in theroy I shoudl have 38 GB of free spave on Drice C.

Sorry to get abit compleracted....... any idea were that 38GB will be so I can free my drive up

My guess would be that you have Norton Antivirus..
If that is the case, norton "protects" your files from
being deleted and saves them in a hidden folder..

You can remove these files by going to
X:\Recycler\NPROTECT\ (where X: is your drive)

After that change the settings for this by right-clicking
the 'recycle bin' and uncheck 'Enable Protection for all
your drives under the 'Norton Protection' tab..

Thats what was my problem.. Gained some 40GB..

I recommend you to buy yourself an RAID5 controller. I have 4*120gig on RAID5 mode which provides me 3*120=360gig on hd space.
I prefer to use RAID5 for safety, but you can also use JBOD which combines all the disks you have on the contoller into one, well at least windows thinks it looks like one. A Litte warning if one of the disks fails, your JBOD config also fails! It happend me once at the beginning when one of the disks failed on me. I use RAID5 ever since.
Maybe not so important for the average user, but hot swapping an hd can save a lot of troubles :) (RAID5)

Promise controllers have a very good price tag. Just make sure you get the latest drivers.

You could buy an external usb box for internal drive, or an external drive(usb or firewire) or even a pci ide card

Windows doesn't take into account the size of sub-folders, so if you went into everyC: folder to check the size, well, I bow to your single-mindedness ;)
But norton protected recycle bin is probably the culprit.

With your pc specs you could probably hook up ten HDD so don't worry :) Just make sure they're all well ventilated.
