Hello I just received my copy of DIF4U 1.47 beta about 5 days ago. It looks like a very promising program. But unfortunately it has been quite fustrating. I have read as many of the guides and forum post as I can, but no luck.
It seems that at the end of running DIF4U (scenaid 1 click method) my "video_ts" folder in my working directory does not contain the menu files. It seems that NUmenu4u does run CCE and encodes them but it seems to me (and i may be mistaken) that it never runs scenarist to author them.
I am stumnped.
Using :
DIF4U 1.47
Numenu "scenarist vers RC1"
BATCH CCEWS 0.9.1.5
SCENAID RC3 0.9.2.7
I am now running this whole process once again and will have log files to post later on if requested to do so.
Thanks for any help
hi babaji and welcome to the forum!
it sounds to me like one of two things:
1. numenu4u is working correctly, however you have not selected the relevant scenarist options - 'Import, Compile, Close' under scenarist tab.
or
2. numenu4u has encountered an error and did not process your menu files.
so... for option 1: select the correct options and run again, or 2: try taking numenu4u out of the equation, and run the DIF4U with the 'Re-encode menus with NuMenu4U' DESELECTED. you will not process your menu files however you will end up with a menu.

Hi Jel,
Thanks for the help!
1) I do have "'Import, Compile, Close' selected in NUmenu4u
2)I would really like to get this working with menus being processed, every bit saved counts!
if you can think of anything else please let me know.
however I did notice this in my DIF4U log
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(20:45:49) | Create VIDEO_TS Folder |
(20:45:49) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(20:45:49) Creating D:\oz1\VIDEO_TS directory using unused VTSes
(20:45:49) Menu Files are being omitted by request
(20:45:49) -This may take a while!-
(20:45:49) Finished copying unused VTSes
(20:45:49) Extras Assets= 0 bytes, DVDR Size= 4704317440
(20:45:49) Main VTS Assets= 516147712, Chosen DVDR Size= 4704317440, Video_TS Directory= 6240256 bytes
what is that about??? why does it say that Menu Files are being omitted by request ????
dont worry that is perfectly normal when you have run numenu4u with dif4u. otherwise dif4u would overwrite the newly encoded menus produced by numenu4u.
out of interest, how big are your menus? you may want to take my other suggestion and not include numenu4u in the process - although it is working 90+% of the time, there are still a few issues that zuel is working on.

Thanks for the follow up. The menus on this disk are 465 MB. I would like to get this working, I have tried several disks I could not get it to work with any of them. I think something must be setup wrong or is corrupted.
HELP
I guesss I'll try a uninstall and a reinstall of all all the software as per the Scenaid guide here.
not necessarily anything wrong with your setup.
you will find a log file in your numen4u programs folder. post the contents here, as it may help zuel know whats happening.
as i said, numen4u is still in development and may not work with all discs.
good luck

I am trying some new discs hoping I just had a string of bad luck. I will post the log here if problems persist. Thanks for your time.

how do i post my NuMenu4U log when i am restricted to 16000 char and the log file is 112,000 chars long?
well if you had/found websapce you could upload it and post a link.
however for the purposes of this excercise, just post the last 10+ lines of text - so we can see where its stopping. zuel will let you know if he needs additional info.

another option too is to run numenu FIRST before running doitfast4u
it makes it more of a 2/3 step process however you will know right away if there's issues...

that sounds like a good way to trouble shoot this, is there a guide somewhere explaining how to do it using that approach?

Progress!!
I have upgraded to scenarist 3.01 and NuMenu4U was able to launch it!! We'll see if I run into problems with this version of Scenarist like others have, but at least I have found the problem.
Thanks Jel and D3s7 for your efforts...:D

I've heard bad things about 3.01 (just be warned)
