I'm thinking of buying the external ldw 851 sx dvd_rw drive.
Does anyone have an opinion about it?
I'm suspicious about it because i think it is to cheap for an external dvd drive: 120 €uros!!!
Can u gime me some help?
Thanx

It's probabaly so cheap cause it's obsolete.

There are newer drives like 812, 832 and 1213.
You could patch the 851 to support 8x -r and DL maybe... >>> http://codeguys.rpc1.org/oc.html

Wrong, the codeguys 851 patch does NOT include 8X DVD-R.
DVD+R DL is the only additional specification added to the drives capabilities.
All DVD-R is still limited to 4X.
All 8X DVD-R hacks/burning attempts on an 851 have been failures.
