MPEG-2 documentation?

hello there, i'm looking for a documentation about the mpeg(-2) (or mpeg in general) video codec.

does anyone have or know where to get one? (best would be in German)

btw i mean something that explains just everything about mpeg-2, about GOPs and Sequences, about I, P and B pictures and so on. ;)

Best place to find the MPEG2 Documentation is ISO (http://www.iso.org). Other good resources are The MPEG Homepage (http://www.chiariglione.org/mpeg/) and the pub Hompage of JTC 1SC 29 (http://www.itscj.ipsj.or.jp/sc29/) (there are the MPEG and JPEG group). If you use google you can find the complette MPEG2 Standard documents and working drafts, but they are not legal.
For german documents ask at the german Gleitz/doom9 forum.
