Extracting AAC from AVI?

It seems as though all thread pertaining to extracting AAC only relate to it coming out of an MP4 container..... That's understandable :p , but it annoys me that I cannot seem to demux an AAC track from an AVI I have here. Vdubmod fails, as does Graphedit, MKVTools, and MP4UI failed right off the bat since it can't open AVI.

Any solutions? (I feel this has been asked a million times yet I didn't find anything with the search)

AVIMux should be able to do this, because it's the only application that muxes AAC to AVI.

All you needed to do for mkvtoolnix to work, is mux the avi in mkv first with mkvmerge, then use mkvextract to extract the tracks ;)
But avimuxGUI is the way to go anyway.
