Have only just started doing DVD > DVD backups, and just getting a handle on it. Though have been making SVCD's and DivX's for a long time.

I want to remove the sex bits from some movies so my kids can watch them. Whilst browsing all of the Guides, I am sure a Oneclick application allowed me to remove a section of the movie, but now I cannot find it again?

(or did i just confuse myself with the removal of start - end credits)

I'm not aware of any program that would allow an easy way to remove specific scenes from a movie.

The only one that comes to mind is DVD Shrink's Start/End cutting option in re-author mode. You can Start/End the first segment, then do another segment omitting the unwanted scene. Of course you're going to end up with several different titlesets with obvious transitions from one to the other.

But you can combine those titlesets into one using 2Cool's method (search forum), using DVD2One, Nero Recode, or TMPGEnc DVD Author.

vobblanker will let you cut out parts of a movie. You can only do
one cut at a time, so if there are 5 parts you want to cut, you have
to process the movie 5 times. You also have to use ifoedit at the
end to do a mock strip to get the pointers all corrected. Be warned
that depending on where you do the cut, the movie can stop during
playback and you have to press the 'next chapter' button on the
remote to get it to continue. This seems to happen mostly if the
end point of the cut is at the very beginning of the next cell.
Burn you disk to a RW and test it is the best bet.

Also, the time display during movie play will be messed up.
If you cut out 1 minute, you'll see the time display suddenly
jump something like: 05:40, 05:41, 06:42, 06:43. Not really
that big of a deal though.
