When creating dvds, I usually take the wav file after the encoding process and resample to 44.1 to make a CD.

I'm looking for the best sound quality, so should I:

1. Use the method above

2. Use a converter like River Past Audio Converter/ Goldwave to extract the wav from the original AVI?

Thanks

This sentence confuses me. What are your source and destination formats?

Think they mean that they usually do avi(?KHz)-->DVD compliant files (48KHz)-->44.1KHz wav.

If so, then yes you would get better quality going AVI-->wav, especially if the avi is 44.1KHz.

I'm starting with an AVI file.

Using Procoder to create an m2v and audio file (48kHz) for DVD authoring.

I also want to make a CD using this audio file, so I resample it down to 44.1 khz in Steinberg Wavelab.

I thought that maybe using Procoder would reduce the sound quality of the audio file.

So is it better to extract the audio from the AVI by another method? River Past Audio Converter for example?
