View Full Version : Changing default audio (how?)

First up, my apologies if this is covered elsewhere; I did a couple of searches before posting.

I have a rock DVD about 6GB. It has a PCM soundtrack of >1GB and an AC3 alternative. I think the best way to back it up is...

1. Rip the PCM to audio CD.
2. Rip the video and AC3 to DVD-5 (minimal compression).

Both steps were accomplished but the PCM was the default audio and now I have to manually change it to AC3 whenever I load the backup disc.

Can I change the default audio? If so, where and how. I had a poke around in IfoEdit but I don't like to mess unless I know what I'm doing (and I don't :) )

Thanks for reading this and for any advice you can offer.

Regards,
Alan

hi Alan,

the process of using ifoedit to change the default audio is a relatively simple one.
2Cool has written a very detailed guide on the subject :
Correcting Menu Language Buttons After Stripping Unwanted Audio(s) (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46909)

if you have any problems with following the guide (i can sympathise with ifoedit being daunting at first glance), post back and we will walk you though it.

Thanks very much for the reply and advice.

I've got the guide and I'm studying it now :)
