If I do a first pass on movie_a.avs, and then I open movie_b.avs and do a first pass, can I later open movie_a.avs and do a second pass? Does the video.pass file remember only the stats for the most recent first pass, or does it remember all of them?

killingspree's right (isn't he always? :)). If all you did was keep the default video.pass, then you screwed up, because now you just have the statistics for movie_b. So next time, make a pass file for each movie, like, movie_a.pass and movie_b.pass, and save each in the movie folder for that movie.
