View Full Version : Auto Exporting Markers to Chapters from Premiere Pro?

I used to have a plugin that I used in Premiere 6.5 which would convert unnumbered markers on the Premiere timeline into a list that could be exported to a text file and used in Scenarist to add chapters to a DVD project.
I cannot get Premiere Pro 1.5 to see that plug in, despite installing it in several plugin folders that 1.5 has. It's just not showing up in the Export menu.
How can I export timeline markers to a text file that I can use with Scenarist? I am using CinemaCraft to encode video, so the Adobe Media Encoder and Encore are out of the picture entirely.

Don't need the plugin, it happens automatically.
That is what the MCSES file is for.
Check the manual. It's in there.

My understanding is that is for EncoreDVD and works from Adobe Media Encoder. I'm aware that you can embed markers as chapters if you're output path is through Adobe's encoder and DVD authoring software, but we are not using those.
We export directly to CinemaCraft. That MPEG file has no chapter/scenes embedded in it. So we need an alternate method of getting a list of markers to use for chapters.
I myself spent most of last evening manually typing a list of time codes for 142 chapters in this one project we're working on this week. It was a daunting and tedious task, not to mention error-prone. That plugin we had for 6.5 saved us hours of manual typing and proofing on each title.

I understand your problem now!
One day, I really must learn to read the post properly before commenting!!
I will have a good poke around & see if i can find anything.

That's correct. The thing is, there is a plugin that does this, but it only works under Premiere 6.5. Pro won't see it no matter which plugins folder I put it in.

What plugin is it that does this?
I mean, is it an Adobe one?
I have some very good friends at Adobe, and will ask them about this.
Seems like quite an oversight.
However, if it is a 3rd party one, then it will have to be recompiled as do every other suite.
Example - Magic Bullet suite, which I paid $1500 for, won't work in Pr Pro 1.5 yet it is fine in 1.0!
Red Giant tell me there will be an updated version soon.
This seems to be what we are now up against in every area.
I blame Piracy, as it seems to be the only way that some manufacturers can protect themselves.
