How do you add closed captions after DVD Rebuilder. I can manage to extract them using VobSub and VSRip.exe, but I don't know what I do at this point. Is this only possible if I buy Scenarist?

I would use DVD shrink, but the result is lousy. The material is crammed with 6 or 7 TV episodes no subtitles.

in this forum. I explained it in detail. But they are not CC any more, rather subtitles.

Thanks. I read that already, and other subtitle guides that are more detailed, but I still want to know if it is possible to restore the closed captions. Is your answer a resounding no? When will DVD ReBuilder support Closed Captions? What tool can I use to add Closed Captions back?

There is no tool to add them back. If you need them for episode disks, which is unfortunately exactly the time you don't want to use DVDShrink due to their size, then you have to use the manual big3 method to retain captions. This is what I do.

jdobbs has been tight lipped about cc support. He hasn't said he can do them, and he hasn't said he can't or won't do them. I hope he can some day figure it out.

not the way jdobbs is doing it. I understand, there are no time flags preserved in CCE, so he is splitting celss and encoding them that way. C C is lost that way (I guess).

CC can be inserted after encoding, during re-authoring. Big3 does this, with Scenarist doing the re-authoring, so it is possible.

They are even perserved when doing a project By-VOBID, which re-encode the video in small segments, like DVD-RB does.

I did a little research and it doesn't look like it will be that difficult... but there are many things to do, and so few of me to do them.;)

Can't you take 2 hours away from your sleep schedule each night? Or make some clones of yourself, as in Multiplicity (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0117108/)

Actually, I'm glad to hear that you don't think it's impossible. With that, I'll wait patiently.
